Pellet burners
Wood pellets offer an easy, clean, efficient and eco-friendly way to heat with a fireplace.
A guaranteed efficient way to burn pellets in a fireplace is to use the LumoX burner. The LumoX Pellet pellet burners manufactured by us have been developed for the efficient utilisation of wood pellets in fireplaces, and their efficiency lies in a unique combustion technology that is patented.
Fire technology directs combustion air to where research shows it is needed, namely to the fire gases above the combustion process. This ensures that the fire gases burn efficiently in the firebox.
Wood pellet is a true energy package, and an excellent fuel for heating a fireplace. Its advantages are cleanliness, ease of use and consistent quality.
Wood pellets are densely compressed bark-free softwood, which contain an abundance of thermal energy and have very low emissions. Thanks to clean combustion, the amount of combustion residue also remains minimal. The high efficiency of the wood pellet is influenced by its technical properties, such as a low moisture percentage and product consistency. Ecological friendliness is enhanced by the manufacturing method, as the production utilises sawmill industry by-products. The use of pellets is very common in Central Europe and Sweden, but in Finland it has been less widespread; however, usage has increased significantly during the energy crisis.
Because pellets are pure energy compressed into a small size, transporting them is easy and efficient. As a fuel, it is effortless and safe to handle. The calorific value of a tonne of pellets is high, approximately 4.8 MWh, which in terms of calorific value corresponds to about four stacked cubic metres of split logs or 450 litres of oil (source: https://www.biotalous.fi/puupelletit/)
However, it must be remembered that due to its density, the pellet needs to burn by gasification in order to burn efficiently from start to finish while also producing a useful heat output.
